Two Turkish Nenes had to be separated by their husbands after a conversation on who was more ill escalated.
It all started with Aliye Hanim visiting Zehra Hanim for their weekly catch up which was all going pleasantly until Aliye started talking about her latest medication for her cholesterol.
Zehra was quick to respond by showing off her latest tablets she has to take 3 times a day to help with the bad knee she had been complaining about since 1976.
What started as an innocent conversation, descended into a 1-upping battle with each lady revealing medications for different illnesses.
“We only went over there for a kahve and catch up” said Mustafa, Aliye’s husband. “We didn’t think it would turn into Pharmaceutical death match!”
Zehra was not showing any signs of backing down when she pulled out the insulin injections that she needs everyday for her diabetes.
“We’ve been married for 42 years and she has never been diabetic”. Explained Osman, Zehra’s Husband. “Her cousin left them when she came to visit, and now Zehra thinks she needs them.”
We reached out to both Aliye and Zehra’s doctor (who is the same person) for a comment, who explained that he has never prescribed any of the medication in question, and has launched a full investigation on where these medicines are coming from.
Both Zehra and Aliye are currently being held at a local police station after being charged for smuggling medicine in from Turkey. Mustafa and Osman are at home watching the Beşiktaş match.
